summer is off to a great start

i love summer time. mainly because JB is home with me. i simply can not get enough of her! it's a little more challenging this year because i'm working from home, but the convenience in that is being able to work early in the morning and late at night when she's sleeping. i feel blessed to still be able to spend as much time with her as possible. she's growing up way too fast!

we have been keeping busy doing fun things. we rented a paddle boat last weekend.

so fun! although, she pooped out after about five minutes which meant i had to paddle the thing around the pond. let me tell ya...a paddle boat doesn't go very fast at all. especially with one person paddling. :)

we went fishing with my friend and his family at their church family day outing. it was so much fun! i haven't fished since i was a little girl and it is definitely something we will have to do again this summer.

we didn't catch anything, but it really was fun!

i've been working on my laundry room in my spare time (when's that?). i want to have at least one room that is completely finished in this house so that i can walk into it and just feel peaceful. it's been a therapeutic room to redo. stripping wallpaper, repairing the walls. it will be a while before i finish it, i'm repainting trim and cabinets, ceilings and walls. i did pick out all the paint colors for my house though and that feels good!

not pictured is the Sherwin Williams Brassy Gold (which is a green color that is my office) and my ceilings are Key West Ivory, which is a shade lighter than the Dijon color. all colors are Benjamin Moore, aside from the celery green color which is called Plum Passion (weird) and it is a Valspar color from Lowe's. i have accents of reds and oranges, but am going very neutral with the paint colors and keeping the greens, blues, and yellows that i'm so drawn to. it will be very light and airy. assuming i ever finish! haha. it's a good project for me to throw myself into.

we also signed up for the summer reading program at the library.

we are nerds. :)

i hope you all are having a great summer! i am looking forward to making many memories with my sweet girl this summer!

"is there a lot of stuff you don't understand? she said & i said pretty much the whole thing & she nodded & said that's what she thought, but it was nice to hear it anyways & we sat there on the porch swing, listening to the wind & growing up together" brian andreas

  1. soak up all those sweet moments! That's what I love about you, is that you do! I feel like I am like that a lot, but not often enough. I love my two precious ones, but often my stress get's in the way. It is so simple to put away the cares of the world, whisper a prayer to our precious Father, and get out there and live life with those you love. YET, for me, sometimes my emotions way so heavily upon me, I don't get out. I just stay in. Stay in my house, stay in my brain, stay in my thoughts. You have so encouraged me today Julie! :)
